40 Days for Life - Houston - Day 1

What a beautiful day to begin the 40 Days for Life here in Houston! Thank you St. Paul Catholic Church for sponsoring today in prayer!

Thank you also to all who participated in the Candlelight Prayer Gathering this morning. It was so powerful to see the lights symbolizing our carrying the light of Christ out to one of the darkest places on earth, the abortion facility.

We know the light does not come from us, the Light is Christ and we stand sharing the hope we have found in Christ, the hope we hold forth for the women and children!  We have allowed our own lives to be transformed by love of Christ! May God enlighten the minds and calm the hearts of the pregnant women who are afraid and feel there is no where to turn! We pray they will see the danger of abortion clearly and also the pathway to a better solution and choose life!

As we unite with the International 40 Days for Life and their 375 locations around the world in prayer, we pray with them a specific prayer intention and scripture verse.

Day1 -Today:

Intention: That we may use these 40 Days for Life to plead for God’s mercy and grace upon all those involved in the sin of abortion.

Scripture: Blow the trumpet in Zion! Proclaim a fast, call an assembly. Gather the people, notify the congregation. Assemble the elders; gather the children and the infants at the breast… Let the priests, the ministers of the Lord, weep and say, "Spare, O Lord, your people.” —Joel 2:15-17

Day 2 - Tomorrow:

Intention: Let us pray that pastors may not be distracted from the priority of caring for human lives.

Scripture: In those days, when the number of the disciples was multiplying, there arose a complaint against the Hebrews by the Hellenists, because their widows were neglected in the daily distribution. — Acts 6:1
