40 Days for Life - Houston - Day 20

"Is there a limit to the number of abortions?"

"Is there a limit to the number of abortions a woman can have?"  The young woman's question stunned the sidewalk counselor. She thought back to another woman ("Lizzy" who had told her, "I've had 6, but my friend had 10 abortions." ("Lizzy's" negativity towards their friend shows the number of abortions didn't make her feel more justified in having an abortion.)

The sidewalk counselor began with explaining the complications of just one abortion and then the reality that each abortion increases the risk of those complications.  The sidewalk counselor pointed out that there was no guarantee she would walk out of the abortion facility alive because women can die during the procedure as well.

The young woman eventually went over the Big Blue Bus, and afterwards she left without going into the abortion facility.

The sidewalk counselor said she prayed Joel 1:12-13 for the girl after she left, "Yet even now....return to me with your whole heart....return to the Lord, your God, For he is gracious and merciful, slow to anger, abounding in steadfast love."

If you know someone who is suffering after an abortion, please let them know about a healing ministry. This healing process can even help prevent a "repeat abortion.":

UNITING WITH 40 DAYS FOR LIFE AROUND THE WORLD!

As we unite with the International 40 Days for Life and their 375 locations around the world in prayer, we pray with them a specific prayer intention and scripture verse.

Oct 16th, Day 20:

Intention: That we may realize the generational impact of abortion.

Scripture: Isaac prayed to the Lord for his wife because she was barren; and the Lord granted his prayer and Rebekah his wife conceived. The children struggled together within her, and she said, “If it is thus, why do I live?” So she went to inquire of the Lord. And the Lord said to her, “Two nations are in your womb, and two peoples, born of you, shall be divided; the one shall be stronger than the other, the elder shall serve the younger.” — Genesis 25:21-23

NEWS FROM THE BIG BLUE BUS!

Friday, the Big Blue Bus was blessed to have 4 visits. Of these women, 3 have new pregnancies and 1 had a follow up visit. At this point, all of these moms are planning to parent. Please keep these women in your prayers!

All praise and glory to God!
