"Sacrifices made, go beyond 'the natural' through an act of grace!"
Many times, you will hear us say "Praying outside of the abortion facility for an end to abortion is one of the simplest and most effective ways to end abortion;" in part because, "Anyone can come pray outside of the abortion facility."
People come pray, having come with different gifts and talents and backgrounds. There are those who are passionate because they grew up pro-life, those who knew someone who was affected by abortion, those who are post-abortive and are finding healing through the grace of God and helping other women to choose life! Many have a story that give us pause to think and recommit to that hour of prayer!
One of these volunteers is a man with a passion to pray outside of the abortion facilities; he attends several events each year. That may not seem so unusually impressive until you know that Tommy has been wheelchair bound for years and continues to come. He suffers from Amyotrophic Lateral Sclerosis (ALS), also known as Lou Gehrig's Disease. Even while his body struggles to hold up his head, his mind is incredibly active. Even while he struggles to write, his kind, cheerful disposition sends a clear message: these women and their unborn children are worth the sacrifices and worth the prayer! He is not preachy, and each person he interacts with sees his love and respect for his fellow human beings and for God! May we all be inspired to come out for that ONE HOUR (or more) and bring a friend with you doing the 40 Days for Life AND throughout the year.
Thank you to Love Let's Live for sponsoring this day of prayer for an end to abortion! And thank you to all the individuals who came out to pray for an end to abortion!
Thank you to Our Lady of Walsingham for sponsoring Saturday out on the sidewalk and also coming out to our Run/Walk for Life!
UNITING WITH 40 DAYS FOR LIFE AROUND THE WORLD!
As we unite with the International 40 Days for Life and their 375 locations around the world in prayer, we pray with them a specific prayer intention and scripture verse.
Oct 17th, Day 21:
Intention: Pray that we each will daily put on the full armor of God, so that we are strong in the Lord and the power of His might.
Scripture: For we do not wrestle against flesh and blood, but against principalities, against powers, against the rulers of the darkness of this age, against spiritual hosts of wickedness in the heavenly places. Therefore, take up the whole armor of God, that you may be able to withstand in the evil day and having done all, to stand. - Ephesians 6:12-13
