40 Days for Life - Houston - Day 28

"That sign was a blessing."

God sends us blessings in many different ways while we pray on the sidewalk outside of the huge abortion facility.

Today a woman, who had been praying on the sidewalk, called out with a big smile on her face, "God bless you!"  She was so excited. When asked she paraphrased Luke 6:22-24, which reads "Blessed are you when people hate you...and insult you...on account of the Son of Man. Rejoice and leap for joy on that day! Behold your reward will be great in heaven." It is not very often that we see a Planned Parenthood client give us the hand gesture telling us ..."that we are #1" ....as we pray out there on the sidewalk.

Fortunately, we know sometimes anger is the preliminary step to pull us out of apathy in sin and brings us to conversion.  We also know that Christians have been persecuted for Christ through the centuries. If God allows for us to recognize the persecution with a mere unjustified hand gesture as we stand in defense of human life, He also allows for us to recognize the glory we give God in that moment!

For me, it was a blessing seeing so many women of varying age groups coming out to pray for an end to abortion. It's not that I do not appreciate men, but in many ways the abortion issue is primarily a woman's issue. The woman is pregnant. The woman carries the baby.  The woman's body and soul is harmed by the actual abortion procedure. It seems reasonable to guess that 50% or more of the babies aborted are female.   So it was a relief and a delight to see so many women out there praying for an END to abortion today!

UNITING WITH 40 DAYS FOR LIFE AROUND THE WORLD!

As we unite with the International 40 Days for Life and their 375 locations around the world in prayer, we pray with them a specific prayer intention and scripture verse.

Oct 24th, Day 28:

Intention: We pray for the conversion of abortionists and all abortion advocates.

Scripture: Wash yourselves, make yourselves clean; Put away the evil of your doings from before My eyes. Cease to do evil, Learn to do good; Seek justice, Rebuke the oppressor; Defend the fatherless, Plead for the widow. — Isaiah 1:16-17
