Making History with #HoustonStrong Astros!
Yesterday, Houston fans crowded around the TV with friends and family and watched the Astros #EarnHistory as they became the 2017 Champions of the World Series!
We watched as George Springer won the MVP Award with his record of home runs, RBI's and extra-base hits! He told ESPN "It's a very surreal feeling because this is Game 7. This is what you dream of as a kid. And for that to happen is indescribable.*"
As Houstonians, we cried with joy for Evan Gattis as we recall his transition away from substance abuse through rehab to working as a janitor then returning to college and now bringing home the Victory of a World Series to Houston!
We applauded the engagement of Carols Correa and the former Miss Texas, Daniella Rodriguez and the lifetime of commitment that is promised with a marriage!
This game was such a gift as we continue to pull together and build the community #HoustonStrong
At Houston Coalition for Life, we hope that pregnant women will use this time of hope and encouragement and remember the importance of family, of those you can count on, who help you rise above the odds! We pray they will think back to those who help them pull through when it's hard and who celebrate the victories with them and they will want to share this with the unborn who are already here, who also should have the chance to dream as a kid and help bring Houston their own victory!
Together, we will continue to be #HoustonStrong!
Thank you to St. John Vianney Catholic Church for sponsoring this day of prayer for an end to abortion! Thank you also to the group of parishioners from St. Helen's! And thank you to individuals who came out to pray outside of this massive abortion facility!
UNITING WITH 40 DAYS FOR LIFE AROUND THE WORLD!
As we unite with the International 40 Days for Life and their 375 locations around the world in prayer, we pray with them a specific prayer intention and scripture verse.
Nov 2nd, Day 37:
Intention: Pray that we will each submit ourselves this day as a living sacrifice to God, giving all that we have in us for those being sacrificed on the altar of convenience.
Scripture: I beseech you therefore brethren, by the mercies of God, that you present your bodies a living sacrifice, holy, acceptable to God, which is your reasonable service. - Romans 12:1
