"I wanted to look at my options."
On the sidewalk outside of the massive abortion facility, a sidewalk counselor handed a young woman a coupon for a free pregnancy test and ultrasound. "Yes, that is what I wanted!" said the young woman. She pulled her car out of the driveway and parallel parked on the street.
A little surprised at how swiftly the girl had changed her mind, the sidewalk counselor asked her a couple questions, and the girls said, "Well I don't know if I'm pregnant or if I want an abortion, so I want to look at my options."
The young woman came out smiling with a baby blanket and shared how far along she was. Once again the sidewalk counselor was surprised because she was past the legal limit for an abortion in the State of Texas. "I wondered, how did she not know? Or how long had she been holding off coming after finding out?"
Later the sidewalk counselor shared, "It hit me really hard while praying out there that the girl was so sweet and so open to be redirected. What would have happened if she hadn't met me or another sidewalk counselor? Where would she be? Would they have been able to easily redirect her in some way to abort?"
Today is the last Friday of this 40 Days for Life. Tomorrow is the last day of the 2017 Fall 40 Days for Life in Houston! NEXT week, we could really use some more sidewalk counselors on the sidewalk!
You can sign up and continue to come out and pray; contact Theresa@houstoncoalition.com to get emailed our new online calendar link! And invite a friend to come with you!
You don't have to say a word except in prayer!
Thank you to St. Matthew Catholic Church for sponsoring this day of prayer for an end to abortion! Thank you also to the group of parishioners from Mary Queen Catholic Church! And thank you to individuals who came out to pray outside of this massive abortion facility!
UNITING WITH 40 DAYS FOR LIFE AROUND THE WORLD!
As we unite with the International 40 Days for Life and their 375 locations around the world in prayer, we pray with them a specific prayer intention and scripture verse.
Nov 3rd, Day 38:
Intention: Pray that those standing in peaceful vigil will extend mercy and grace to others as they remember that Christ did not treat us as our sins deserve.
Scripture: You have heard it was said, 'you shall love your neighbor, and hate your enemy.' But I say to you, love your enemies, bless those who curse you, do good to those who hate you, and pray for those who spitefully use you and persecute you. - Matthew 5: 43-44
