40 Days for Life - Stories from the Street_ Day 1

Opening with Sacrifice of Love and Time

Happy Valentines Day, Everyone!

What a way to open the first day of 40 Days for Life in Houston!  Sometimes the pace required to "keep up" in our world, can make an hour or a day or a "cause" or taking care of another life look like a huge sacrifice.

Yet it is the sacrifice that makes the love so beautiful and it is the love that opens our desire to want to sacrifice for the good of another person.

John 15:13 "Greater love hath no man than this, then He lay down his life for his friends."   (Continued in our Blog.)

Thank you to those who came out early to begin the 40 Days for Life at 6:30am this morning with the Candle Light Prayer Gathering!  We stand, holding forth the light of Christ!  We know that Christ is the Light of the World: "In Him was life, and that life was the light of men. The Light shines in the darkness and the darkness has not overcome it." John 1: 4-5

May we always keep Jesus, our Savior, in the forefront of our mind as we spend this time, this sacrifice of love, in prayer for the protection of the unborn and their mothers to be saved from abortion and for the conversion of the workers and of our society!

Thank you to St. Paul Catholic Church for generously sponsoring the cost of a day of operations on the Big Blue Bus!

Thank you to St. Luke Catholic Church and St. Paul Catholic Church for sponsoring this day of prayer for an end to abortion!  YOU can sign up to pray outside of the largest abortion facility in the Western Hemisphere by contacting Theresa@HoustonCoalition.com!

As we unite with the International 40 Days for Life and their 354 locations around the world in prayer, we pray with them a specific prayer intention and scripture verse.

Today, Feb 14th, Day 1: Intention:  That we may use these 40 Days for Life to plead for God's mercy and grace upon all those involved in the sin of abortion.

Scripture:  Blow the trumpet in Zion! Proclaim a fast, call an assembly. Gather the people, notify the congregation. Assemble the elders; gather the children and the infants at the breast... Let the priests, the ministers of the Lord, weep and say, "Spare, O Lord, your people." -Joel 2:15-17

Tomorrow, Feb 15th, Day 2: Intention:  Let us pray that pastors may not be distracted from the priority of caring for human lives.Scripture:  In those days, when the number of the disciples was multiplying, there arose a complaint against the Hebrews by the Hellenists, because their widows were neglected in the daily distribution. - Acts 6:1

Come join us on the sidewalk for a legal, peaceful and prayerful response to the horror of abortion. You can get more details by contacting Theresa@houstoncoalition.com!
