40 Days for Life Public Vigil CANCELED
(From email sent out on March 23, 2020)
Yesterday Shawn Carney, President and CEO of 40 Days for Life International, officially canceled the public prayer aspect of all the 40 Days for Life Vigils worldwide. You can read his letter here. Although we will not be able to gather in groups to officially stand and pray outside the abortion facilities, we can still continue our life saving work by keeping the vigil alive at home with prayer and fasting. Please let us know if you are praying at home so we can keep a count for the vigil.
However, yesterday brought some great news for Texas. Governor Abbott issued an executive order that all elective procedures (including abortions) are temporarily being "held at bay" in Texas starting March 23rd! You can read the official document here.
Because of the confined space in our two mobile crisis pregnancy centers and for the safety of the Houston Coalition for Life staff and the women we serve, our two mobile crisis pregnancy centers are temporarily off the road. However, we will still be serving abortion minded women in need by appointment at our office pregnancy center.
In the midst of this turbulent time we would also like to share with you a beautiful story about a life that was saved. Last week Planned Parenthood was only letting in two clients at a time. Among those waiting to go into the facility was a woman seeking an abortion. Instead of continuing to wait, this woman left Planned Parenthood and went to the Big Blue Bus. She had already had three previous abortions and had every intention of aborting this child, too. However, when she saw her baby on the ultrasound, she had a change of heart and chose life for her and her unborn child.
Praise God for a child's life saved and a mother's heart changed! Please keep this mother and all the mothers we serve in your prayers. Know that our thoughts and prayers go out to you and your family during this time.

Thank you to all the churches, groups and individuals who joined us in prayer during the Spring 2020 40 Days for Life!
