Missionaries in our own land!
(Originally in an Email from March 17)
Happy St. Patrick's Day! With everything going on in the news, the Board and Staff of the Houston Coalition for Life are praying you all have a safe and healthy day of celebration as we remember the Saint who brought the Good News of the Gospel to a fearful pagan community that had once enslaved him! He brought spiritual freedom to the very group that had enslaved him.
Due to regulations promulgated at the national level by the CDC, we encourage you to avoid physical contact and to spread yourselves out as you continue to come pray. Please keep in mind we want to make sure gatherings are 10 people or less at any given time. Of course if you believe you are more at risk of catching Covid-19, you can always pray from home and notify theresa@houstoncoalition.com so we can keep a count of prayer volunteers. We hope to report this number at the conclusion of this 40 Days for Life which ends on Sunday, April 5th. If you want to sign up for hours on the sidewalk, the main contact is clare@houstoncoalition.com.
Yesterday, at the HALF WAY point of 40 Days for Life, a group come out from Annunciation, a parish named after the event when Mary said "yes" to the God's plan for her to conceive and bear the Son of God, the Savior of the World!
As we pray outside of the abortion facility, we hope many more women (and men) will say "yes" to God's plan in their life to help prevent them from being in a crisis pregnancy situation in the first place. And if they find themselves facing a crisis pregnancy, we pray they realize that God created this child at this time for a specific purpose. No matter how they were conceived, the unborn child is not at fault, and they should be allowed to live!

Thank you to the group from Annunciation Catholic Church that came out on Monday, March 16th!
Thank you to the Cathedral of Our Lady of Walsingham for sponsoring Saturday, March 14th! And thank you to the Catholic Charismatic Center that comes out each week throughout the year!
Thank you to St. Maximilian Kolbe for sponsoring Friday, March 13th! Thank you also the groups from St. Bartholomew Catholic Church and Mary Queen Catholic Church that come out each week year round!
Thank you also to each of the individuals who came out to pray for an end to abortion outside of Planned Parenthood on I45!
YOU can sign up to pray outside of the largest abortion facility in the Western Hemisphere on our vigil website or by emailing clare@houstoncoalition.com
